As we arrived we were ready to see what the Lord had in store for us for the week. A sports clinic is something I knew little about and have not been involved with before. I must say it was a nice change just being a foot soldier in the army of our Lord.
Each day brought an increase of children and teenagers and each day they not only learned about their particular sport but also about the love of Christ and how He could change their lives forever. It was a special thing for me to watch these coaches deal with the children and how well they listened and responded.
Every morning I prayed that the Lord would show me if there was more of a reason for being there than just helping out where I could. I was rooming with a young Mexican pastor named David whom I grew to love and respect. He was a humble but wise young man who had just finished seminary and felt God wanted him to come back and serve in Sinaloa. This required much faith of him and his wife for he was coming without a job or financial support.
Sinaloa is a state of 2.5 million people and there are very few evangelical churches there. Some areas have no Christian influence and the gospel is all but void. Needless to say this grabbed my heart and my attention.
I am not sure if God is calling When Will We Cry to become involved in MX but we are praying for his will concerning that. I do feel that He does want us to help David in his work that will began very soon there. One thing he needs is transportation. If anyone has a vehicle they would like to donate, this would be a blessing to him and his family. It would need to be a 1994 or newer because of the laws of MX, and would need to be road worthy for driving it to Mexico. If we receive such a vehicle When Will We Cry will bear the expense of getting it there.
Thanks for your prayers and help concerning this matter. After a short vacation I will be back in Guatemala in July. We are so very grateful for all our Lord continues to do in our midst. The mission teams coming are bringing much encouragement to the saints there.
Lord bless you all.
