Though this week was nearing the end and we were a bit weary, the guys finding water had rekindled our spirits. As we waited for the ladies to return and VBS to begin, we sat and talked about the weeks events.
I noticed two small children walking down the dirt road carrying a cloth bag with a rather long tail hanging out of it. As you might imagine my curiosity got the best of me so I approached the children wanting to see just what they had captured.

A large, beautiful Iguana lizard was in the bag, feet tied but unharmed and thus, transformation from missionaries to Crocodile Dundee's began.

OK.....I'll admit it. I was a bit nervous but in my defense I did go first. As Joey and Joshua saw that my ear was left intact they were ready for their Iguana Dundee photo.
I gave the two kids 10Q, which is equivalent to a buck forty American. Hopefully, it will help keep this big guy from the frying pan.
The ladies had just pulled up with VBS supplies in hand. Needless to say they weren't impressed with our new found friend. They were, however, prepared and ready for the 150 plus children that would show up.

The children listened intently to the Bible story and participated in singing songs and a craft. After an hour the team was finished and ready to hand out snacks as the children made their way out in single file.

They gathered outside of the church to bid farewell to the Americans who had traveled many miles to come and bless their community.

Once again we'd like to thank our friends from Wynne Baptist Church, who came and showed the love of Christ to the people in San Marcos, Guatemala.
May the Lord bless you and keep you all,
Lewis and Donna
