While in Guatemala drive as Guatemalans do -- or at least close.
Driving Rules:
1. Drive as fast as the road allows you or you will get run over.
2. Don't get mad--tail-gating, being cut off,being passed on double yellows--on both sides at the same time-- no worry--but my biggest pet peeve-- is no tail lights/brake lights. Perhaps that's why they all drive so fast!
3. Be courteous-- it will get you no where but is the right thing to do.
4. Remember-BIGGER means they win--always--end of story. The LARGE bus will squash you and keep going.
This trip to the coast went well, a few near scrapes but nothing major. The weather was beautiful-we arrived safely once again.
Those who are here for the first time comment on how blessed we are and how little the people here have.
Our day will start early tomorrow. Better get some sleep.
