Here at home update

Here is little Lexie, our granddaughter, at 3 months of age. She finally got her cast off only to be fitted with this brace. She will need to wear it 23 hours a day for the next 3 months and her mother says she is not very happy right now. Rebecca and Lee wanted me to thank all of you once again for the prayers.
They know that Lexie will soon get used to this contraption and that three months will pass quickly.

Home on the Range: Part 1

Donna and I are now the proud owners now of an insulated house, and already we have noticed a welcomed difference. We love our 100 year old farm house surrounded by huge old oak's, and of course no neighbors, but in the winter it was always a bit drafty. Over the years we just dealt with it the best we could but having this extended time at home I thought I'd investigate my options.
Purchasing a 3" hole saw I began this quest 4" below the 9 foot ceilings. Twenty minutes later I was still drilling. You see, behind the sheet rock is 3/4" 100 year old oak tongue and groove wood. Finally the first hole was bored in a record time of 34 minutes. I only had 45 more holes to go. At this rate I will still be drilling when 2010 rolls around.
To make a long story short, after some trial and error, mostly error, I got the necessary tools to do the job, bored the holes, bought 26 bags of insulation, rented a machine that blows the insulation through a large hose and into the wall cavities, and I was in business.
I will let you know more on the progress tomorrow.

Thanks for your prayers and support. God bless you all.

Merry Christmas,

Lewis
