February 13, 2010-Mars Hill and Sharon Baptist Churches

We're at it again!!

Snow and ice are tricky but the real problem, here in the south, as I see it is this thang we call - "hey yawl, watch this." Now that'll cause a 50 mile, four hour traffic jam nearly every time. One stands in silence, to my left, on I-75 north just south of Chatanooga,TN. Praise the Lord we're in the south bound lanes.
Though there is 3 to 4 inches of snow on the shoulders the interstate is clear so far.
Once again we're out on midnight cruise down to Atlanta. We could call this one - The Valentine Run. The problem with that is most of our sweethearts ain't here.
Seventeen brave souls have once again, placed their lives in my hands, and given their time and talents to go and serve in Guatemala.
One of this years perks is getting away from all of this cold, nasty weather here in the south.
Tomorrow, if all goes as planned, we'll enjoy the 70 degree temps in the city before heading out to, triple digit coastal weather, where we will spend next week. No heat or hot water required.
God bless you for your prayers and support.
Construction, Bible School and Food distribution are on the agenda. We're prayed up and ready to serve. Now
the Interstate is much worse as is the snow. We're 40 miles out from Atlanta.

Ely and Rosa:
Ely's report was not great this time. The tumor in his lung had grown so the doctor changed his chemo. He is on a more conventional treatment now. Please continue to pray.

Bruce Myers' dad passed away:
Pastor Myers had preached more than 60 years. He was serving as pastor at New Covenant Baptist in Mill Port, AL. Please pray for this family.

It's 12:20a eastern time and traffic has come to a halt on 75 south. We're 30 miles from Atlanta - Another "hey yawl, watch this" perhaps.

Buenas noches mi amigos,

Lewis
