August 6, 2009-Thursday
Early this morning I sat musing over a can of tuna, and listening to the day come to life.
There is no hustle or bustle here, only the sound of the choir of roosters, water dripping from last nights rain and a few gringos starting to stir.
I began to think about all the events of the week and how a building, as well as many lives have been wonderfully transformed. I praise God for all He is doing.
My peaceful meditation is interrupted by a loud speaker, a truck selling pan (bread) blasted the airways.
My thoughts quickly turned to the day before us, and some things we could finish this evening, when we return from the mountains.
The mountain air is fresh but something has my allergies stirred. As always, blessing the pastors with some basic needs returns much more than is given.
After lunch we headed back down the mountains. The temperature was rising as we headed down.
Arriving back at the dorm the team went to work. No rain had come today and the heat is intense. By 8PM we had finished all that we had started the first of the week.
Eva Howard brought new shower curtains for the dorms and she cleaned while others painted. They look fantastic and completely seal the openings. : ) The new ceiling fans we hung move lots of air and right now 86 degrees feels kinda pleasant.
All in all it's been a great week here in Paradise. Thanks for your prayers!
Tomorrow we'll drive back to the city at 6AM and have some down time before flying out Saturday at noon. We land in Atlanta around 6PM and hope to be home around midnight.
Thanks again for everything!
Go God!
Lewis
